On occasion, you may want to make a page that only editors can see. Usually it's when you're preparing a new section that isn't ready for launch, but you could also use this functionality to create a page on which editors can pass notes back and forth. (In fact, the simple website has a page called "To-do List" that is invisible to the public where I make notes on features I'd like to add to the CMS and content that needs to be added to the website.)
Login to the site using an administrative account or an account that has "manage" rights for the page you want to hide. Navigate to the page through the website, or find the page on the management console.
To hide the page from the public, click on "user permissions". Move "guest" into the center column. Un-check "View" and click "Update." Now users who are not logged in will be unable to view the page.
Occasionally, if you have multiple teams working on the website, you may need to create a page that is only visible to a specific group or set of groups. To do so, follow Step 1 as above and then for Step 2 perform the following tasks:
Click on "Group Permissions." Move "Everybody" into the center column. Un-check "View" and click "Update." Now move any groups you want to grant access to into the center column. For each of those groups, check "View" and click "Update." Now only users in those groups and site adminsitrators will be able to view the page.
